“Last year, after a long struggle, I lost my younger sister to a rare form of cancer. Because of the gravity of my sister’s diagnosis and the harshness of her treatment, my family was very selective about who was allowed to be part of her care team. From the first visit (an in-home palliative acupuncture session) Paige showed herself to be a sensitive and clear-eyed source of support for my sister and our whole family. When my sister was still in the curative treatment phase Paige regularly came to our home, or to the hospital, to provide acupuncture to augment my sister’s conventional treatments. When it became clear that a cure or even long-term mitigation of the disease was not possible, Paige transitioned seamlessly to helping us prepare for my sister’s death.

In practical terms this included helping my sister make an end-of-life plan that clearly stated her wishes for the time around her death and supporting my family in carrying out those wishes. Paige visited us regularly at the hospice center in days before my sister’s death and when the time came she was there to help us (my sister’s husband, her father, and me) prepare the body and arrange for transportation so we could bring my sister home for a private vigil. She made sure that we had a thorough understanding of our rights concerning my sister’s body and acted as a liaison with the funeral home who would handle the cremation. Throughout her time working with my family Paige was dedicated, compassionate, and thoughtful. She has an amazing capacity to be flexible in evolving situations and to be available and helpful without being intrusive.

I can’t say that we are ever prepared to lose a loved one, and we lost my sister much earlier than anyone expected, but I can say that having Paige there to ease her transition meant the world to my family.”

What People Are Saying

"My family and I had the great good fortune to connect on Zoom with Paige, within 22 hours of the passing of my oldest brother Norm.  Paige's expression of the Chö truly felt like it shepherded my brother through the complex terrain of the bardo afterlife, preventing him from any missteps and opening up the best of opportunities for future choices he may wish to make.

As Paige went through the stages of the Chö on his behalf, we all sat in quiet meditation, yet we could really feel the unique quality and transitions between each stage.  We regularly participate in the healing Chö that Paige offers, yet this was quite different - both in how it is presented and how we were able to subjectively feel it as she went through it with us.

We did this many days ago, and what has been amazing is to feel the sense of peace and resolution that still continues for us.  It shifted things for us, as well as for him.  We all are feeling like we did the best possible thing for my brother.  To have a sense that our prayers and blessings for him have been truly delivered makes such a difference to our own healing and acceptance of his passing.

One of my teachers would regularly say "On the spiritual path, it really is a lot about who you know.  Connections matter even more than they do in regular life".

I'm so thankful that my brother knew me and that I in turn know Paige and that she in turn knows those from whom she learned this deep and profound teaching."

"At the death of my dearest friend Vera, whos was not only my best friend, mentor and sister rolled into one - but also a community leader for many, Paige led us in an after death Bardo ceremony via Zoom (it was the height of Covid). This ceremony was requested by Vera, as she practiced many of the Buddhist traditions. Many of us on the zoom weren't familiar with the ceremony but it did not matter as Paige lead us through the layers and explained the translation at each stage. She guided us through the afterlife passage in support of Vera and then made room for each person to have a turn sharing heartfelt words of their favorite moments or thoughts on Vera's passing.

Paige held space with patience and presence during this vulnerable time. Our community came together over our shared love for our dear friend, and also for a healing for Vera and all of us. We were so grateful to honor not only our beloved friend's life, but also her death."
