In Tibetan Buddhism, bardo refers to the transition between death and what comes next. The ceremony honors those who have died and can be done by anyone, regardless of religious background. Following the ceremony, Chef Arlette O'Rourke of Indigenius Cuisine will prepare a fireside dinner featuring farm-grown and local ingredients.

The evening will also include:
-Bonfire
-Tours of the farm and Charleston's only green burial cemetery/certified arboretum
-Catch and release fishing
-BYOB
-Bring-your-own-tent camping
-Limited rooms at the Dragonfly Inn (first come, first served)

This is a wonderful opportunity to experience ceremony honoring the dead, tour a green burial ground and enjoy a fireside dinner prepared by a chef who happens to be the land's steward.

If you are attending in person, please bring a mat to lie on and arrive a few minutes early to get comfortable. If you need financial assistance please get in touch. Payment is optional, you’re welcome to offer what you can but please email to register.

Join others as we dedicate this offering to our loved ones on the other side.

The Bardo Chö is a Tibetan Buddhist ceremony performed to support the deceased, regardless of their religion, in the afterlife journey. It supports afterlife passage by creating an environment of care, love and nurturance while traversing the bardo (realm between death and rebirth) landscape. It is best done within a year of a person's (or pet's) transition but can be done at any time to uplift their current situation. This offering assists in healing karma, clearing obstacles and guiding the departed towards their highest spiritual goals or aspirations. In a group ceremony, the ritual is performed for multiple deceased loved ones at one time. It can be offered once or regularly. In addition to supporting the departed, it provides comfort and connection for those left behind.
